If you missed the final exam (Spring Concert performance), you will complete the alternate written assignment.
Due to Canvas by Friday, May 28 at 3:00 p.m.
Missing a mandatory rehearsal or concert is tantamount to missing a test. Students who have been EXCUSED by Ms. Crawford for a given concert or rehearsal must complete an alternate assignment in order to earn credit for the missed concert or rehearsal.
All alternate assignments are brief, type-written research papers on topics provided by Ms. Crawford.
The papers must be typed in Times New Roman, 12-point font size, double-spaced, and must be a minimum of 2,000 words.
*** Papers will be turned in electronically to show word count. If paper is hand written, it must have every word numbered above.
An accurate and specific bibliography with a minimum of three sources (electronic sources are okay) must be included at the end of the paper. Naturally, you are expected to follow standards of academic honesty and give credit for your research (plagiarism will result in a failing grade).
Research Topic:
- Choose 1 song and composer from our concert. Give some biographical details about the composer, their compositions and teachings, how they have contributed to the choral world. You should also include some information about the song itself (lyrics, melodic and rhythmic choices, overall mood and deeper meaning, etc.). Your own thoughts and reactions to the piece, and how we interpreted the song, would be a welcome addition to the paper.
